While we were putting together our On The Trail feature for our January issue, we discovered, to our delight, that there are several other even better names for trail mix. Next time we head out on a winter walk we are definitely going to be making some of the trail mix recipes featured in our January issue and pictured above. We like to grow some of our own vegetables, visit local markets, rummage for vintage finds, and decorate our home with the plunder. A backronym , or bacronym , is an acronym that is assigned to a word that existed prior to the invention of the backronym. Unlike a typical acronym, in which a new word is constructed from a phrase, the phrase corresponding to the backronym is selected to fit an already existing word. Backronyms may be invented with either serious or humorous intent, or they may be a type of false etymology or folk etymology. The word is a blend of back and acronym. A well-known example of an acronym, a word derived from the initial letters of the words of a phrase,  is the word radar , constructed from "radio detection and ranging". By contrast, a backronym is "an acronym deliberately formed from a phrase whose initial letters spell out a particular word or words, either to create a memorable name or as a fanciful explanation of a word's origin. For example, the United States Department of Justice 's Amber Alert program was named after Amber Hagerman , a 9-year-old abducted and murdered in ;  but officials later publicized the backronym "America's Missing: Broadcast Emergency Response". The earliest known citation of the word in print is as bacronym in the November edition of the Washington Post monthly neologism contest. The newspaper quoted winning reader Meredith G.
Mormons have separate congregations for young single adults, which is very convenient. Their values and the values of popular western culture are wildly disparate, which can be tough for them to navigate early in life. Mormon children are advised, in their religion, to refrain from dating until they are at least 16 years of age. You should certainly still date even if you are not looking for a marriage partner.
It was the second time I watched it, too. Mormon decried it was all a lie, an anti mormon lie. If it seems one is unable to find a spouse within the church, which commandment do you keep. Listen to the still small voiceв. The Church encourages people to be a good influence on one another, and she will probably expect you to dress well for her. And after dating a few months we both knew we wanted to get married.
